Building Code Compliance

DFA Engineering Services assesses issues involving many regulatory codes and standards, most notably the Ontario Building code. Our related services include:

• Slip and fall investigation
• Compliance with recent and historical codes and standards
• Design evaluation
• Plumbing or sprinkler system assessment
• Staircase or door assessment
• Surface slip resistance testing
• Lighting assessment

Slip resistance testing is performed using specialized equipment and following ASTM standard test methods.

DFA engineers have performed more than 1000 code compliance-related investigations over the past 20 years. Our professional affiliations include the Professional Engineers of Ontario and the Society of Fire Protection Engineers. Our professional engineers have been admitted as expert witnesses, and offered opinion evidence at all levels of court in Ontario, Quebec, British Columbia and Nova Scotia.
